Asaza Fund
In 1995, the fund launched a citizen-initiated public work to rivive Lake Kasumigaura, the second largest lake in Japan. Its participants include surronding schools, citizens, forestry and fishery industry, and both private and public organizations. The project works closely together with the children, such as the restoration of the nature in the Lake, conservation of satoyama forest and exterminating foreign fish species. We introduce various business models, and by supporting the growth of local industry, we reconstruct the relationship between human and nature, and among people, to realize a society with a new social system that enbles co-existence of human and nature. The goal is to see Japanese Crested Ibises fly around Kasumigaura in 100 years time.
